Jean Wynia, Pianist & Teacher
I received my Masters Degree in Piano Performance in 1986 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and my Bachelors degree in 1983 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am a fulltime pianist with 30 years of professional teaching and accompanying experience.
My goal as a piano teacher is to provide interesting music and to help my students perform it accurately, both from a technical and musical standpoint. It’s important to establish a solid foundation from which the students can continue learning. Most piano players will not become professional musicians, but I hope to help them become literate, skilled and willing to share an art that enriches the lives of all of us. I welcome input from my students on the type of music they would most like to play, and encourage incorporating popular, jazz, ragtime or other styles of music into our lessons.
